Wild Pot of Musk Oxen

Mashed potatoes:
1 kilo. peeled potatoes
100 g. butter
1½ dl. whole milk
Salt & pepper

Musk-ox pot
1 kilo. meat in cubes
50 g. butter
1-2 tsk. salt
1 big onion
7 dl. water
3 carrots
150 g. celery
2 leeks
2 dl. cream
25 g. flour for thickener

Mashed potatoes:


  • Boil the potatoes in a saucepan for 15 minutes and drain.
  • Mash the potatoes with a fork and mix in the butter and milk.
  • Season with salt and pepper.

Musk-ox pot

  • Brown the chopped vegetables in a saucepan for 5 minutes.
  • Add the meat, and season with salt and pepper
  • Getting the meat in and cross it with salt and pepper; let it all simmer for 45 minutes
  • Add the cream and allow to simmer for another 15 minutes
  • Add the flour thickener and gravy browning


Serve with mashed potatoes
